The Foster Care
Parents of Maine are a group of dedicated trained people who
love children and believe that the best place for children is in a
family environment. These same foster parents realize that while a
child needs may vary it is still very important to get the best
family match. This is why the foster care system is split into
groups.
Currently there are
different levels of care in place to help this process happen.
From the traditional to different levels of the therapeutic
family. All these families work extremely hard to meet the
needs of the children placed in their homes. The child's
needs will determine the family they are placed in. It might
be the difference between traditional foster home with minimal
supervision and/or treatment to a therapeutic foster home with
maximum supervision and/or treatment.
The families main
focus is the child. With supports in place hopes are
the child will thrive and grow into a respected person in the
community when they become an adult.
